Hilliard FC Program
The most competitive program is the Hilliard FC program, aka HFC. HFC teams are formed through a tryout process held at the end of the spring season and conducted by the HFC professional coaching staff. Each player will receive a summary evaluation including either an invitation to join a specific HFC team, or a recommendation for the HOSA program best suited to that player's demonstrated level of development.
Hilliard FC is a competitive program with specific expectations regarding ongoing player development. All pertinent information will be communicated by the Head Coach at the initial team meeting. Every player accepting an invitation to join the HFC team is expected to commit to participating for a full-year.
The teams play in the Mid Ohio Select Soccer League (MOSSL), Buckeye Premier League, and against other teams in Central Ohio. During the year, the team will play a Fall and Spring season, attend training camps, participate in tournaments and may participate in optional Winter leagues or training sessions at indoor facilities. Professional Trainers coach HFC Club teams. Teams are from U9 to U18/19. Read more about this program in our FAQ's: Hilliard FC FAQ's
Registration for tryouts begin each May. Tryouts are required for both Elite and Select teams.
Hilliard FC travel program has two levels: HFC Elite Teams (Academy, Blue, Royal, and White teams) and HFC Select Teams (parent coached U9-U12 teams). Hilliard FC is also over two non-tryout programs: Jr. Academy (U6 and U7) and U8 Academy. To learn more about these two programs go to the "Programs" tab and then to their respective pages.
What is HFC Elite?
HFC Elite is the highest level a soccer player can play in Hilliard FC program. Depending on the numbers of players trying out each age group can have multiple teams, a blue team, a royal team and a white team with the blue team being the top team. The U9 teams will play within an academy environment. TheU10 blue/royal teams will typically play in the upper level of MOSSL and the U11 on up blue /royal teams will participate in the Buckeye Premier League, Ohio South Soccer League, or MRL. Blue/royal teams will travel farther for tournaments possibly including out-of-state tournaments throughout the season. The white teams will play the middle to top divisions of the MOSSL leagues. Typically their tournaments are local throughout their seasons.
What is HFC Select?
HFC Select is an extension of the Hilliard FC program but competes at a middle-tier level. Players attend the same tryout/evaluation as the Hilliard FC players. Players wishing not to be considered for the Hilliard FC club program may request to stay in the HFC Select program. Teams will be formed via a draft conducted by the parent coaches, as determined by the Hilliard FC Directors, of the available players. The draft will take place within a few weeks of the Hilliard FC team formation for the same gender/age group of the players not placed on a Hilliard FC team. Teams will compete in the Mid Ohio Select Soccer League (MOSSL). During the year, the team will play both a Fall and Spring season, attend training camps and technical sessions, participate in tournaments and may participate in optional Winter leagues or training sessions at indoor facilities. Teams are from U9 to U12. Check out this link to learn more about HFC Select guidelines: HFC Select Guidelines.
