Number of years coaching:
28 years (Started coaching my son when he was five years old. Coached at all levels including a select traveling middle school team. Eight years officiating and coaching youth programs and twelve years coaching high school soccer. Sixteen years as a high school Official. Entering sixth year as London Hihg School girls' coach.
Greatest achievement as a
coach:
I have had some great wins and champions, but my greatest achievement as a coach is teaching young men and women the game of soccer. Coaching is an extension of the classroom teaching teamwork, sportsmanship, setting goals, building confidence, and the fun of playing soccer.
Favorite Players:
Jandro Flores (Jandro was an exchange student from Mexico that I coached in 1999. I still keep in touch with Jandro). Professional players: Clint Dempsey and The king of Rome, Francesco Totti.
Favorite
Teams: 1999 U.S. Women's National team
What is the most rewarding thing
about coaching youth soccer?: The look on a kids face when he executes a play like he was taught and it works. Getting a kid to think of helping his team instead of himself always gives me a sense of accomplishment. As individuals we have flaws. As a team we can be flawless.
Interest outside of coaching: All sports, deep sea fishing in Florida, playing softball, movies, music, and I enjoy spending time with my family, Geri, wife of 36 years and my son Aaron who is an Attorney. Watching my three Grandchildren, Jacob 7, Zander 5, and Chloe 3, play sports including soccer.
