HOSA was founded 40 years ago with a simple mission, provide any interested child the opportunity to play soccer regardless of age or ability. Some begin their soccer career in the Locomotive Recreation Program while others seek a more competitive environment which can be found in the Locomotive Academy Program.

The LOCOMOTIVE ACADEMY 6U & 7U program offers a transitional step from recreation soccer to the competitive game.  Player’s register, they do not try out.

Training is conducted in a “pool” format focused on creating and maintaining a positive and supportive environment where individual development is paramount. All instruction is provided by the Locomotive SC Professional Coaching Staff and designated Assistant Coaches

This program consists of two 60-minute sessions per week over seven weeks. Friday sessions feature skill development activities while Sunday’s are given to small-sided games.

Sunday’s games operate with the following parameters:

    1. Teams will generally consist of 4-6 players for game play as deemed appropriate per the Locomotive SC Player Development model
    2. Small goals are used (no goalkeepers) and no scores are kept
    3. Coach/player interaction will vary and there may be periods without any instruction affording the participants "free play" time

NOTE: The HOSA Locomotive Soccer Club places an emphasis on providing opportunities that are developmentally appropriate. On occasion, the Locomotive Professional Coaching Staff may identify a participant in one program that demonstrates the readiness for another. In such a case a member of the Coaching Staff will contact the parents to discuss that recommendation and options.
